Project Story
Before a good friend of mine passed away, we'd joked that it would take a global talent search to replace her.
This project is me taking on that dare with a public experiment in how meaningful friendships form - and how we might be more intentional about them.
This explores whether connections - of the genuine, resonating, mid-life variety - can be built with the same structure and care that we often reserve for our careers.
It’s equal parts memorial, social experiment, and invitation to connect - because maybe friendship deserves a recruitment strategy, too.
How It Works
The application process is designed for empathy, depth, and connection.
In short, it's meant to be the best recruitment process you've ever signed up for.
What You Get (Even If You Don't Get "Hired")
Anyone who makes it to the second round is likely to:
-
Discover questions that make you reflect
-
Experience perspectives that make you consider
-
Join discussions that make you feel
-
Collect moments that make you smile
-
Encounter humanity in many forms
-
Find, I hope, people who feel like your people
Come with curiosity.
Stay for connection.
The Bigger Picture
Loneliness is quietly one of the most significant social challenges of our time. Research shows nearly half of American adults feel disconnected - even when surrounded by others. Studies from Finland, the UK, and the US point to the same trend: friendship networks are shrinking, loneliness is rising, and adults increasingly struggle to make or maintain close connections. As busy adults, we're primed to schedule meetings, not meaning. And the solution may not lie purely in apps or algorithms - but rather more in intention, in connections rooted in real resonance and alignment. This project is a small act of resistance against adult disconnection - a public testing of the elements of intentional friendship, with the hope of sparking others to be intentional in their connections, as well.
I'm not the only one with questions.

I can't quite guarantee an elegant answer to everything, but the more common replies can be found in the FAQ below (which will be updated regularly).
